New Must Watch List for Apple TV

Hello Reader,

This week we have a new Must Watch List - this time focused on Apple TV. I scrummaged around on there, watched a bunch of things and came out with a list of shows that I think are pretty cool, and all of them are sapphic.

We also have some cool new book reviews, one is a weird and madcap journey while the other is a sweet cozy meet-cute romance. It always makes me happy when we do a diverse array of book choices because I am really focused on bringing books to readers.

COZY READ OF THE WEEK

Of Potions and Honey by Cara N. Delaney is a cozy smalltown fantasy novel that has a mystery at its center. While it’s not a romance novel, it has a sapphic romance as one of the subplots.

Tara says, “The bottom of the blurb says: “Of Potions and Honey is a cosy, sapphic romantic fantasy for fans of The Spellshop and Stardew Valley!” I don’t know what The Spellshop is, but I can absolutely confirm that it’ll appeal if you’re a fan of the video game Stardew Valley.”

TLR Event: We Need to Talk about AI in Sapphic Fiction

We just sent out access to our programs for the event. I think they are pretty cool. It’s a downloadable magazine with a lot of information in it.

We also have a fun game for folks to enjoy before the event.

My goal for the event is to come out of the discussion answering this question - What are responsible and ethical ways forward in our changing landscape for Publishers, Authors and Readers of Sapphic Fiction?

There is still time to grab a ticket - but do it now. The event happens next Saturday.

Guess the Book

Don't forget to go all the way to the bottom to play this week's guess the book.
Have a beautiful Sunday and see you at the event,

Sheena

Never Date a Celebrity by Claire Forsythe is a warm, cozy, meet-cute romance about two women who overcome the spotlight of superstardom and the unwanted attention that it brings.

From our review: “The writing was lush and the pacing was perfect for me in this intimate and homey read. Scenes depicting the Ballyluck townsfolk as well as the surrounding Irish countryside add to the atmosphere and make the reader feel immersed in the setting.”

Cards on the Table by Lana Harper and Jilly Gagnon is a witchy mystery that combines tarot cards, a gothic mansion, family secrets, a suspicious death, and enough questionable rich people to make me very happy.

From our review: “Like a lot of Lana Harper’s books this is beautifully atmospheric and yet cosy book. The mansion, the occult elements, and the sense that there are secrets hiding behind every door all work really well together.”

The Lost Brontë by Catherine Friend is a compelling mystery set in the late 1800s that captivated me and kept me reading well into the night.

From our review: “Lily was a gem of a main character. She defies societal norms and expectations of the era”

Today I give you clues to a book that is featured in our Highly Recommended category on TLR. Can you guess the book? Play to find out.

This book is a small-town romance with a lot of warmth, a sprinkle of spice, and all the feels of the autumn/fall season.

One of the main characters is clumsy and awkward.

One character is a hot new butch in town.

One of the settings is a pumpkin patch.

Can you guess what it is?

Hello Reader, When I was younger and first discovering the beautiful world of sapphic fiction there were maybe four to six sapphic fiction titles being published every month. Most of them were contemporary romance and about half of them were good reads. (I spent a lot of money importing books to South Africa back then). So it was really easy...
